Nikki shot to fame in 2004 after making the Top 6 of Malaysian Idol Season 1. Despite her ernomous talent, she was surprisingly voted off midway through the competition. Intrigued by her vocal prowess and ability to hit the high notes, she was quickly signed up to be the first recording artiste of Artistes United Records (AUR).
In November 2005, Nikki released her debut album Maharani which was well-received by music lovers. It was hailed as the best album ever produced by a local reality star. The album spawned hits like Pinta, Caramu, Imaginasi and Hey Hey. Caramu went on to become the biggest hit of 2006 and was equally successful in Singapore and Brunei.
Nikki was honoured as the Best New Female Artiste at the regional awards show, Anugerah Planet Muzik 2006 and won the Choice Vocal Duo/Group (with Zahid who was featured on Caramu) at Malaysia's most prestigious radio awards show, Anugerah Era 2006.
In December 2008, Nikki released her highly anticipated sophomore album titled Hawa. The album has been receiving rave reviews for Nikki's oustanding vocals and its polished production. She has released four singles from this album - Relakan, Selamat Tinggal, Belasmu and Cantik.
Nikki was recently nominated for the Best Female Artiste award at Anugerah Planet Muzik 2009 and the Popstar Award at Shout! Awards 2009.
Plans are being made to bring her album Hawa to Indonesia, which is a very tough market to crack. She had her first taste of performing in front of an Indonesian crowd in April 2009 at X2 Club in Jakarta.
